DJPremium Fall 2012

Hi everyone!  I’m so excited to share with you the newest Fall lookbook I styled for DJPremium.com! For this lookbook, I really focused on featuring our jackets and sweaters with bold prints and color.  Color is still a huge trend for Fall and I really wanted to incorporate that into the outfits. I had a lot of fun playing with all of the different textures, colors, and prints, and I hope you find some inspiration for your upcoming Fall outfits! ;)

Here are just a few of my favorite shots from the lookbook.  Check out the entire lookbook for Men and Women, and shop all the looks for Men and Women now!

Today’s Outfit: Sheer Trench Coat

Photography by Joshua Allen Green

Outfit details: Dress: c/o YA Los Angeles; Sheer trench coat: Mikkat Market; Heels; Jessica Simpson; Jewelry: gifted by LYLIF & vintage.

I found this gorgeous trench coat from Mikkat Market and fell in love! This website has tons of trendy, affordable clothing that you will LOVE when you first visit the site. :)   I love the waterfall front detail of the trench coat, and the looseness of the coat complemented my loose summer dress from YA Los Angeles!  The colors of this outfit are so feminine and soft, and I love the mix of prints and textures.  This is definitely a more subtle way to stand out.

Before it’s too late, Happy Easter everyone!! :)   I hope you all have a great weekend!

Inspiration: Tropical Prints

1. Charlotte Russe, $5.50; 2. ASOS, $53.72; 3. Karen Millen, $160; 4. Elizabeth and James, $395; 5. River Island, $89.53; 6. Miss Selfridge, $68.

While watching the Spring 2012 runway shows, I loved seeing these gorgeous tropical prints take over the runways from Peter Som, Altuzarra,  Stella McCartney, and more. Adding a punch of tropical prints to your wardrobe can liven up any outfit, it’s so festive for Spring/Summer and it’s naturally flattering to the eye. Above are some of my favorite tropical-printed pieces that you can easily incorporate into your wardrobe!

How would you wear tropical prints??

Today’s Outfit: A Colorful Mess

Photography by Joshua Allen Green, Makeup/hair by Stacey Lete

Outfit details: Shorts: Ann Taylor LOFT (similar here), Top: Calvin Klein (similar here), Sandals: Jellypop (buy here), Bracelets: Forever 21

Mixing prints is such a HUGE trend this Spring, who doesn’t love it?!  I feel more confident and bold when I mix bright prints together, it’s unique and will definitely get people’s attention. ;) You can either risk it all by pairing prints with completely different color schemes and hope it works (like what I did here), or play it safe by keeping the prints in a similar color palette. Whatever you prefer, mixing prints is dramatic and bold so have fun with it this season!

Today’s Outfit: Silky Camisole

Photography by Joshua Allen Green

Outfit details: Dress: California Vintage Connect, Sandals: Rampage, Necklace: Nordstrom

Went super simple with this amazing printed camisole/tunic.  The prints are so amazing and I’m such a huge fan of greens right now.  I wanted to really showcase the flattering prints and kept it very simple with sandals and a necklace.  It looks like lingerie huh? WELL, wearing lingerie as outerwear is totally on trend so I’m not complaining. ;)

I knew I had to buy this dress when I saw it at a resale boutique, it has such an amazing print and though it’s normally not my style, the prints motivated me to try something new with my outfits.  Time to go out this weekend and show this dress off! ;)

Hope everyone has a great 3-day weekend!!

Today’s Outfit: Abstract Prints

Photography by Joshua Allen Green

Outfit details: Coat: Kenneth Cole, Top: Thrifted, Skirt: Forever 21, Jewelry: Vintage, Booties: Zigi Soho

Time to turn up the wow-factor! Mixing prints together is probably one of the most fun things to do when styling an outfit.  It’s daring and you’re definitely taking risks when tackling new prints! :)   I love this black/white skirt because the colors give it a neutral touch, which ties in the look together.  I found this bib necklace at a thrift store for only $3 and thought it would be the perfect finishing touch to this crazy-busy outfit.  ;)

Would you dare to mix prints??

Today’s Outfit: Different Elements

Photography by Joshua Allen Green

Outfit details: Leather shorts: Plastic Island, Top: Vintage, Jewelry: Vintage & Forever 21, Black cover up: Thrifted, Booties: Steve Madden

This unique, INSANE necklace was from Forever 21…crazy right?? Seriously, Forever 21 has some killer jewelry for amazing prices.  I loved how it reminded me of those arts & crafts I used to make when I was younger. The detail is so precise and the pop of dark pink is the perfect touch.  For this outfit, I really wanted to play with all sorts of textures and patterns.  I love this printed top against the detailed necklace, it’s busy in the best way possible.  The tan leather shorts I bought on DJPremium.com tie in with the hints of gold reflected through my jewelry.  And of course, to add that unique touch, this black sheer/weirdly textured cover up was the cherry on top to this insane collage of madness! :)

How would you mix different elements together?!
