Who doesn’t love a green suede, mini dress with an open back?? This vintage dress from Killer Styling has the right amount of edginess, femininity, and class for Spring!  I love the open back, plus the color is to-die-for!! I’m definitely going to take advantage of this gorgeous Thursday since it’s going to rain tomorrow (boooo!).  Hope everyone has a great time at Coachella this weekend, can’t wait to see all of your gorgeous outfits. ;)

Inspiration: Festival Looks!

Recently, I styled fun festival looks for DJPremium, inspired by different music genres!  Time to channel your favorite bands/artists into your personal style! ;) It was so much fun playing with different colors, patterns, and flowy materials, and after doing this project I’m SOO jealous of everyone who’s going to Coachella!

I can’t wait to see the amazing looks from Coachella after the weekend, I love festival style and here are six looks that can work for all music genres! I was inspired by The Black Keys, Florence and the Machine, Snoop and Dre, Santigold, and Radiohead. Must-have essentials for your trip to Coachella are: flat booties, a loose kimono cover up, jean shorts, and crop tops!

You can shop all of the festival looks here and see the entire feature here. (Click to enlarge the photos)

Today’s Outfit: Dipped in Floral

Photography by Joshua Allen Green

Outfit details: Dress: Lovers + Friends (buy here) c/o Lobby; Sandals: Jellypop; Jewelry: Vintage/Thrifted (similar choker) (similar bracelet).

Isn’t it obvious how much I LOVE florals for Spring?! Haha ;) This gorgeous Lovers + Friends dress has the perfect floral print and the shape of this dress is extremely flattering and fits so well.  Mixing florals is another one of my fave trends, and these Jellypop shoes (which are INCREDIBLY comfortable and only $45 at DSW!) add the perfect touch to this look.  I accessorized with my gold vintage choker and piled on watches and bracelets.

Happy Wednesday!! This week has been pretty good for me, though its kinda gloomy in San Diego, I ain’t complaining. ;) I can’t wait to share with you a fun project I’ve been working on at my day job!! I’ll post it soon, stay tuned! <3

DJPremium featuring Streetwear!

Last week at work was filled with: compiling moodboards for our newest lookbook, booking the perfect models, planning all the outfits, editing the outfits, talking with marketing and buyers about the shoot, AND lastly actually shooting the lookbook! PHEW. Did you get all of that?? There were a lot of ups & downs, stress and laughs..but in the end, our team pulled it off and the end result looks AMAZE. ;) The best feeling is seeing your work paying off in the end, and I’m so proud of myself. It definitely was a challenge styling “Streetwear” but I took it with full force and had the best time mixing and matching different colors and prints together. Here is the full DJPremium Streetwear Lookbook that I styled!  Enjoy :)

Today’s Outfit: Sheer Trench Coat

Photography by Joshua Allen Green

Outfit details: Dress: c/o YA Los Angeles; Sheer trench coat: Mikkat Market; Heels; Jessica Simpson; Jewelry: gifted by LYLIF & vintage.

I found this gorgeous trench coat from Mikkat Market and fell in love! This website has tons of trendy, affordable clothing that you will LOVE when you first visit the site. :)   I love the waterfall front detail of the trench coat, and the looseness of the coat complemented my loose summer dress from YA Los Angeles!  The colors of this outfit are so feminine and soft, and I love the mix of prints and textures.  This is definitely a more subtle way to stand out.

Before it’s too late, Happy Easter everyone!! :)   I hope you all have a great weekend!

Inspiration: Ikat Printed Pants

1. Topshop, $110; 2. Forever 21, $10.80; 3. Miss Selfridge, $38; 4. Current/Elliott, $168; 5. Topshop, $48; 6. ASOS, $26.86; 7. Steve Madden, $69.97.

Ikat prints were huge on the Spring 2012 runways; the elaborate prints are the perfect statement pieces for any outfit this season!  I am obsessed with these Current/Elliott jeans available at Shopbop.  The colors work so well with each other, and the green tones are so on-trend! I paired these statement pants with classic pieces, such as this silk Topshop top and waterfall blazer.  You can contrast these fitted pants with something flowy and loose on top.  I finished it off with chic sandals and light jewelry.

How would you rock out these statement pants? :)

Today’s Outfit: Peplum Floral Skirt

Photography by Joshua Allen Green

Outfit details: Top: Lovers + Friends c/o Moderne; Denim shirt: c/o Lobby (similar); Peplum skirt: c/o Lobby (similar); Jewelry: Forever 21 & Vintage, Booties: Lucky Brand (similar).

I had so much fun creating this outfit!! Peplum is such a huge trend this Spring, and I adore the floral print against the black skirt, it’s definitely a new take on the skirt silhouette. :) I created a casual-chic look by pairing it with a crochet crop top (VERY on trend!) and a denim button down.  Just had a crazy busy photo-shoot for work this morning and I finally had time to eat lunch! Phew ;)

Happy Wednesday!

Today’s Outfit: Candy Canes

Photography by Joshua Allen Green

Outfit details: Dress: c/o YA Los Angeles, Top: Lovers + Friends c/o Lobby Store, Sandals: Steve Madden (similar), Jewelry: Vintage

This strapless dress from YA Los Angeles (available at Piperlime.com) has the perfect asymmetrical shape (currently obsessed) and color for Spring! I think I would wear this to a Spring/Summer wedding as well, the strapless bodice has ruched details and it moves so effortlessly in the wind.  I decided to layer this dress with a silk blouse from Lovers + Friends, it has the same feel as the dress.  The light layers and whimsical feel this top brings adds the perfect feminine touch to this wind-loving outfit. ;)

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I definitely shopped to my heart’s content and had a fun test shoot with Emily Soto! You can check out some of the behind the scenes pictures on my Instagram (@smileforstyle), follow me! :)
