A Ben Trovato New Years Eve!

As some of you may remember, I styled an amazing New Years Eve themed editorial with my amazing friends Nicole Hill & Bethany Ruck.  It was definitely a night to remember and the pictures capture all of those worthwhile moments.  The editorial is now live on the Ben Trovato Blog titled as “A Ben Trovato New Years Eve” and I couldn’t be happier to end 2011 on this high note.  This photo shoot was a culmination of all of our hard work and persistence of working in the fashion industry and I cannot be more proud of the outcome.

You can see the entire editorial and interview by clicking here!  Once again, I wish you all a very Happy New Year! :)

Here are some snippets from the interview:

“Stylist Chesley was more than excited to work on this project with Nicole, and tells us they wanted to break the boundaries of the typical New Years Eve outfits: “- We took NYE to a whole new level with layering unexpected textures and colors together, plus adding an extra dose of sequins..of course. During the preparation of the shoot, the 70′s vibe was stuck in my head and I knew I had to capture that raw easiness through the clothes.

This was by far one of the most fun shoots I’ve had, specifically because I got to work with an amazing team and style unexpected pieces in a cohesive way!  ”

Happy New Years Eve!!  My outfit today is perfect for any NYE party.  This silver dress with a high slit is sophisticated and a little sexy. ;)  Have fun with metallics, sequins and color tonight.  Looking back at this year, I feel happy.  I am so blessed to work with such talented people, create even more networks, and excel in my job as a stylist.  My family and friends are so amazing and I can’t thank them enough for all their support and love. Let’s end this year with a bang!

Today’s Outfit: Sheer Genius

Photography by Joshua Allen Green

Outfit details: Blouse: Foreign Exchange, Dress: Cotton On, Shoes: H&M, Belt: H&M

Happy Friday! I’m loving these short work weeks, and I can’t wait for another 3-day weekend!  I found this gorgeous sheer button down dress at Cotton On for only $10 during their end-of-the-year sale.  It’s a great color that can go well with anything and it’s definitely something that I’ve been looking to add to my wardrobe.  This outfit was so much fun to put together and I’m pleasantly surprised with this color combination, it’s feminine and flirty. :)   The leopard details in the wedges and tiny belt gave the outfit a rougher side to this girly look.

Tomorrow I will be posting up my NYE look, stay tuned!  What are your plans this NYE?? ;)

Inspiration: All that Glitter

All that Glitter

BB Dakota three quarter sleeve dress, $100
Dorothy Perkins cream jacket, $59
Steve madden shoes, $100
Ambre Babzoe embossed handbag, $199
Chain jewelry, $95
Dara ettinger jewelry, $70

Glitter and sequins are the obvious elements for your perfect NYE outfit!  However, I changed it up by using a subtle pink sequined dress and accentuated the feminine factor with nude and light pink accessories. Would you want to tone down the sequins or liven it up with even more color??

Today’s Outfit: Pop of Red

Photography by Joshua Allen Green

Outfit details: Sweater: Zara, Button Down: Thrifted, Pants: California Vintage Connect, Shoes: MIA

I love the texture and colors of my new Zara sweater, it’s extremely comfortable and the colors work with anything!  Instead of pairing this sweater with typical skinny jeans, I changed it up with my red trouser pants and bright red lips! The hint of polka dots adds a fun touch to this outfit. This outfit is a different take on your go-to work outfit, so have some fun for work and wear those bright pants sitting in your closet. ;)

How would you wear red pants?

Inspiration board: Denim Lookbook

At work I am currently planning the outfits, model choices, themes, & much more for our upcoming Denim Lookbook for DJPremium.com!  I’m envisioning a more editorial style lookbook and I especially love the “chill” aspect of being in an urban downtown area.  Here is my current inspiration board for the upcoming lookbook.  I love the easiness and edgy attitude these pictures bring, and I love how these pictures portray denim jeans in a whole new light.  As the stylist for DJPremium.com, I get style premium denim brands, such as True Religion, 7 For All Mankind, Nudie Jeans, Adriano Goldschmied, and many more.  Check out the website to cure your latest denim fix. ;)

I will keep you posted on further planning stages of this lookbook for work!  Until then, enjoy my inspiration board!

Today’s Outfit: My Fashion Resolution

Photography by Joshua Allen Green

Outfit details: Jacket: California Vintage Connect, Blouse: Cotton On, Skirt: Thrifted, Shoes: H&M, Jewelry: Forever 21

It’s two days after Christmas, and though it felt like the holidays went by so fast, I’m incredibly blessed to spend time with my family and close friends whom I’ve missed dearly.  It was a great couple of days to reflect on this past year.  Beyond anything else, the one thing I’ve learned from this past year was to go for it.  You are the only one who can make a difference in your life. Be confident and believe in yourself.  Life is about risks, so why not take them?!  Looking back. I’m really glad I made the risks that I did–I met and worked with so many talented people, I am excelling in my job as a stylist, and have a great relationship with the people who matter most in my life.

One of the resolutions I have for the new year is to really go out of my comfort zone, life wise and fashion wise. ;)  I had so much fun with this color combination of pink and teal.  I loved both colors very much alone, but never tried them together until now!  I think the colors complement well and it definitely was a fashion risk I loveeeee.  Plus I scored the teal leather skirt at the thrift store for only $10!  What a deal.

What are your fashion resolutions for 2012??

Today’s Outfit: A Velvet Christmas

Photography by Joshua Allen Green

Outfit details: Dress: Forever 21, Blouse: H&M, Necklace: Vintage, Heels: Nine West

Two more days until CHRISTMAS!!  I can’t wait to go back home to the Bay Area and see my family.  I rarely go home, so when I can I really make it count.  Here is my second Christmas party outfit that can inspire your party outfits.  This will most likely be my outfit for Sunday–the velvet dress is so comfortable, and the sheer blouse underneath gives the outfit more character.  For a dress like this one, feel free to layer different textures underneath, whether it’s lace, sheer, metallic, try whatever makes you feel beautiful and you are all set for your party!

Have a Merry Christmas everyone!!! :)
